Make your everyday life feel a little more special with these simple little luxuries to schedule every month, and a printable calendar to help.

Simple Luxuries to Schedule - Printable Calendar

We spend a lot of time talking about simplifying our homes.

What can we get rid of? What can we organize? What can we stop buying?

But there’s another side of simplifying: How do you want to spend your time?

Because simplifying isn’t just about having less stuff. It’s about making room for more of what you actually enjoy.

So I’m trying something new: scheduling a few “little luxuries” into my calendar every month.

Not expensive or elaborate. Just small things that make ordinary life feel a little more special. Because here’s the thing:

What gets scheduled gets done.

The things we want to do tend to get the “we should do that sometime” treatment.

And sometime has a funny way of becoming six months from now.

So let’s put a few little luxuries on the calendar.

1. Time with a Friend

Put an actual date on the calendar instead of saying, “We need to get together!” Go to lunch or go for a walk. Take a class. Shop a farmers market. Visit a museum. Go thrifting. Run an errand together and turn it into an outing. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

2. Time with Your Spouse

Get ice cream. Go for a walk. Watch a movie. Grab breakfast. Sit on the patio and talk after the kids go to bed. The goal isn’t to create the world’s most romantic date. It’s just to intentionally spend some time together that isn’t about logistics, schedules or who’s picking up what.

3. Time by Yourself

This doesn’t have to look like some elaborate spa day. Browse a bookstore. Wander Target. Get a pedicure. Buy yourself flowers. Take a bubble bath. Try a new face mask. Or stay home in your favorite pajamas with your favorite meal, clean sheets and a good show. Whatever makes you think, “Ahhhh. I needed that.”

4. Time Off Social Media

Schedule a day to be completely off social media. Give your brain a break from everyone else’s lives, opinions, vacations, kitchens, outfits, accomplishments and highlight reels. The point is to remember what it feels like to have a little space between you and the internet.

5. Time for an Adventure

Explore your own city like a tourist. Visit a random park. Try a new café. Take a different route somewhere. Go to a neighborhood you’ve never explored. Visit a local museum or attraction you’ve somehow never gotten around to seeing. And take a few pictures while you’re at it.

You don’t have to wait for a big vacation to make memories.

Your Little Luxuries Calendar

I’ve made a simple printable to help you put this idea into practice. At the beginning of each month, choose a few or all five little luxuries to put on your calendar.

Don’t wait until you’re free. Because what gets scheduled gets done.

There is something really nice about looking at your calendar and seeing something on there that you are genuinely excited about.

These little things don’t necessarily change your life. But they can change the way an ordinary Tuesday feels.

And isn’t that what we want more of?
