Want to keep your home clutter-free without spending a fortune or hours organizing? These simple organization tools make staying organized easy, affordable, and (almost) magical.

You know that feeling when you’ve decluttered a ton, but somehow—two weeks later—it still looks like your stuff had a party while you weren’t looking?

I get this question all the time:

“Stephanie, I’ve purged a ton – what’s the easiest way to actually keep things from getting out of control again?”

Here’s the truth: you don’t need anything fancy. You just need simple systems that actually work—and that you’ll actually use.

The best organization tools aren’t complicated or expensive. They’re small things that make your everyday routine smoother and your space easier to maintain. You might have to tweak the system a bit to fit your home and family, but once they’re in place? Total game changer.

Here are five of my go-to organizing tools and systems that will keep our home (mostly) under control—without any magic wands required.

1. Drawer Organizers

Because chaos loves to hide in drawers.

Drawer organizers make you start fresh. You’ll finally ditch the random junk, keep only what belongs, and give every item its own little home.

The result? Every drawer looks intentional, not accidental.

2. The Catch-All Basket

Because sometimes life happens faster than you can clean.

A catch-all basket is the secret weapon of tidy-looking homes. It corrals the daily chaos—shoes, mail, random toys, half-finished projects—so your space looks neat now and you can sort through it later.

I keep one in the family room, the drop zone, and honestly, anywhere clutter seems to multiply.

3. 4×6 Storage Containers

The real MVPs of organization.

These small containers have taken over multiple areas of my home because they’re just that versatile. I use them for cords, meds, bandaids, card games, even car clutter. They keep all the tiny things contained, labeled, and easy to find.

See how I use them in my car here.

4. Plastic Board Game Storage Boxes

Because those bulky cardboard boxes were never doing us any favors.

Swapping game boxes for flat plastic bins was one of my favorite organizing projects ever. They save so much space, keep pieces together, and make game night setup and cleanup ridiculously easy.

This project is years old, and I still swear by it.

5. A Label Maker

Because your future self shouldn’t have to guess what’s in that bin.

A good label maker saves time, cuts confusion, and makes every shelf look instantly more organized—with almost zero effort. I’ve had the same not-fancy one for over 20 years, and I still use it weekly.

When everything has a name, everyone in the house knows where it belongs. (No more “Mom, where’s the…?” every five minutes.)

The Real Magic of These Systems

None of these things are fancy. They’re not expensive. They just make it easier to stay organized—and that’s the real magic.

Each one helps control the chaos before it spreads, so your home stays functional, calm, and (mostly) clutter-free.

What about you?
