Spring is finally here! The days are getting longer, the sun is shining brighter, and it’s time to shake off the winter blues.

But before you get overwhelmed with spring cleaning, let’s focus on five small, manageable tasks that will make a big impact.

Each of these can be done in a short amount of time, so by the end of the week, you’ll feel accomplished and ready for the season ahead!

Monday: Makeover Your Mudroom (or Entryway)

Your entryway sets the tone for your home. A quick refresh makes it feel inviting and clutter-free!

How to Do It:

  • Put away winter gear like heavy coats, boots, and scarves.
  • Sweep or vacuum the floor and shake out doormats.
  • Wipe down the front door and any surfaces.
  • Designate a place for shoes.
  • Add a small basket or tray to collect keys and mail neatly.

Tuesday: Tidy Up a Trouble Drawer

We all have that one drawer that collects random stuff. Instead of letting it haunt you, take just 10 minutes to declutter it.

How to Do It:

  • Dump everything out onto a flat surface.
  • Toss old receipts, broken items, and anything you don’t need.
  • Group similar items together and use small containers to keep things organized.
  • Wipe down the inside of the drawer before putting everything back.

  • Small containers or dividers
  • Trash bag
  • Disinfecting wipe or damp cloth

Wednesday: Wipe It Down Wednesday (Light Switches & Baseboards)

You touch light switches all the time, and dust collects on baseboards faster than you think. A quick wipe-down makes a surprising difference!

How to Do It:

  • Set a 10-minute timer.
  • Use a damp microfiber cloth or a disinfecting wipe to clean light switches.
  • Use a vacuum with a brush attachment, a damp cloth, or an electric spin brush to wipe baseboards.
  • If you have extra time, wipe down door handles and cabinet knobs too! See how much you can tackle in 10 minutes, or keep going for as long as you have time for!

Thursday: Toss & Tuck Your Winter Wardrobe

Winter clothes take up a lot of space, and you’re probably not reaching for those heavy sweaters anymore. Today, let’s switch them out for lighter layers.

How to Do It:

  • Gather all your winter clothing from closets, dressers, and laundry baskets.
  • Sort through items and donate anything you didn’t wear this past winter.
  • Store heavy coats, boots, and sweaters in bins, vacuum-sealed bags, or a guest closet.
  • Bring out spring clothes and give them a quick refresh (a light wash or steam can do wonders!).

Supplies Needed:

  • Storage bins or vacuum-seal bags
  • Donation bag
  • Fabric refresher or steamer (optional)

How to Do It:

  • If machine washable, toss them in a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
  • If not, spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Let everything air dry or use a low-heat setting in the dryer.
