Here’s the truth no one wants to say out loud:

It’s not that you need better bins. It’s that you have too much stuff.

So instead of reorganizing the same clutter for the 47th time, we’re doing something different: We’re getting rid of it.

Welcome to…

The Simple 100 Challenge

The goal is simple: Get rid of 100 items from your home.

That’s it.

No complicated system.
No all-day organizing marathon.
No pressure to do it perfectly.

Just removing the things you don’t use, don’t love, or forgot you even had.

Less stuff. Less stress. Let’s go.

How This Challenge Works

You get to do this at your own pace.

  • Knock it out in a weekend
  • Spread it out over a couple weeks
  • Do a few items a day when you have time

There’s no “right” timeline here.

I’ll be doing it in 7 days over on Instagram if you want to follow along or use that as your plan—but you don’t have to.

The only goal is simple:
100 items out of your house.

Where to Start

If you’re not sure where to begin, just work your way through your home one space at a time.

Kitchen

Apparently we all own 47 spatulas and use… one.

Focus on:

  • Utensils
  • Duplicate tools
  • Expired pantry items
  • Junk drawer chaos

Bathroom(s)

Nothing humbles you like expired lotion from 2016.

Focus on:

  • Makeup
  • Toiletries
  • Towels + linens
  • Under-sink clutter

Closets

If you wouldn’t buy it today… why is it still hanging there?

Focus on:

  • Clothes you don’t wear
  • Shoes
  • Accessories
  • Dressers (quick pass)

Bedrooms

A surprising amount of random stuff lives here.

Focus on:

  • Nightstands
  • Under the bed
  • Surface clutter
  • The “not clean, not dirty” pile

Living Areas

The clutter you stop noticing because it’s always there.

Focus on:

  • Decor you’re over
  • Coffee table clutter
  • Baskets, bins, and “temporary” piles

Storage Spaces

Where things go when they don’t belong anywhere else.

Focus on:

  • Closets
  • Entryway drop zones
  • Linen storage
  • Mystery bins

Bonus Areas (Playroom, Office, etc.)

Pick whatever space needs the most attention.

What Counts as an “Item”?

Short answer: If it leaves your house, it counts.

That includes:

  • Trash
  • Donations
  • Recycled items

Yes, even the small stuff counts.

A Few Ground Rules (That Will Save You)

  • We’re not organizing it… we’re getting rid of it.
  • If you forgot you had it, you probably don’t need it
  • You don’t need a system for things you don’t even use
  • You don’t need 47 of anything

And most importantly:

Progress > perfection

You don’t have to hit 100 to win.

If you get rid of 23 things?
That’s 23 things no longer in your way.

What You’ll Notice Along the Way

As you start removing things, you’ll feel it:

  • Your home feels lighter
  • It’s easier to clean
  • You can actually find things
  • You stop feeling behind

Not because everything is perfectly organized…

But because there’s simply less to manage.
