HUGE Family Calendar Printable

This family calendar printable is exactly what you need to get your family a bit more organized!
Years ago I made a fun (and super useful!) project that quickly became popular among the readers of Somewhat Simple. It was a family calendar that I made using vinyl lettering on a glass frame – here’s what that looked like:
I LOVED this calendar, and the entire creation process was really simple –
- cut out your vinyl letters
- draw your lines on the backside of the glass with a Sharpie marker
- use a dry erase marker to track your family’s activities and keep everyone organized!
I decided to come up with an easy way to create this project without a vinyl cutter.
Enter the super simple PRINTABLE version! Now this project is even easier to create and it will look amazing in your home!
How to Make a Big Family Calendar
We have 3 different text options: a brush script, the plain script, and a blank version without any text so that you can use each space however you’d prefer!
Here’s how:
MATERIALS –
- calendar print (download here)
- frame
- dry erase marker
DIRECTIONS:
- Print a HUGE engineer print from your favorite online office supply store. (Are you familiar with Engineer prints that you can get suuuuuuuper cheap from online office supply stores? I get them printed at FedEx Office for less than $5AND it’s often ready the same day or next-day! I always print the 24×36 size since it is a standard frame size and it is easy to find frames without having them custom made.
- Once you have your print, frame it. Then, use a dry erase marker to write and rewrite your family’s happenings!
still one of my faves Steph!
Fantastic idea and great tutorial! With 4 kids still at home, I definitely need something like this 🙂

I'm making a modified version of this – don't need the monthly calendar. Also, thinking of a different title than Our Busy Family. Any ideas?

SO cute. I’m definitely digging this. It appeals both to my OCD ‘What am I forgetting to DO?!’ side, and my funky ‘I don’t want everything to be in one font!’ side. 🙂
What a FABULOUS idea! I’d love to have you share this with our readers for our Fun Stuff Fridays link up!
You are just too clever!

Digging the calendar and its prefect for our family. Thanks!
Been looking for a dry erase calendar since beginning of this year. LOVE this one! So talented!
Hi, really love this idea and would like to make one for our chaotic family with the hope this will help our overall organization!
Hi! Such a wonderful idea, I have already started making my own frame! 🙂
I’ve downloaded this but I can’t figure out how to upload just one of the calendars to Staples. Please help!!
Some online print shops give you the option of only printing certain pages, but if Staples doesn’t let you do this, I use this site all the time – https://smallpdf.com/compress-pdf . You can split, merge, and compress PDFs all for free! 🙂
Super cute!
What size frame do you recommend?
Also do you have a template for the calendar to go vertical?
Thanks Jodie!
I prefer BIG frames – right now, mine is in a 24×36, I believe.
And I don’t have a vertical template – sorry about that!
I think that’s a great idea
Thanks!
